PeriFerry is a social impact enterprise that is solely focused on facilitating sustainable livelihood opportunities to transgender/non-binary/intersex/gender fluid persons and fostering LGBTQIA+ equity at workplaces. We at PeriFerry respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide to us when you visit our website, use our products and services, or interact with us in any other way, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

Who does this privacy policy apply to?
This privacy policy applies to all individuals and entities that avail PeriFerry’s corporate oriented consulting and community oriented livelihood creation services. For e.g., If you are a transgender person looking for jobs through PeriFerry, this privacy policy applies to you. Similarly, if you are a HR Professional looking to hire transgender individuals through PeriFerry, this privacy policy shall apply to you.

Information that we collect
In order to enable you to access our services, we may collect several types of information from you through our website and other channels where you interact with us to access our services. Information we collect include:

Personally Identifiable Information that you share with us as part of the process to access our services: This may include name, pronouns, your gender identity, information regarding your medical transition, email address, phone number, designation, your employer, your salary information, information from your resume that you share with us, govt. ID proof data that you share with us during the onboarding process for our training and placement services, your social media handle when you interact with us on our social media channels and any other identifier by which you may be identified and/or contacted online or offline ("personal information").

Non-personally Identifiable Information: Data provided through the analytics tools used in our website. This data might include your IP address, web browser referrer information, time zone information and other information that your device(s) automatically send(s) when you access our website.

Organisational Information: As part of providing our corporate oriented services (such as conducting staff sensitization services, transgender hiring services etc.), we might receive internal data about your organisation. This might include: information (including contact information) on leaders and managers, organisation’s diversity culture and other such information that you may directly or indirectly provide to us to avail our services.

To facilitate training and job opportunities to you such as direct placements, accommodation in our centres for availing our residential training programs;

Steps that we take to ensure the safety and security of your information include: using multi-factor authentication, keeping our devices updated with latest security patches, sharing your data internally only on as-needed basis, using security measures such as using the https protocol to transmit and receive information whenever possible, using industry reputed technology solutions (such as Google Cloud), using anti-malware software and more.

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

As a transgender/non-binary/intersex/gender fluid person seeking training and job opportunities through us, you can notify us during your onboarding process with us to redact certain parts in your resume before we share them with our recruitment partners. Upon your request, we will remove your name, phone numbers, email IDs and detailed location information from your resume before we share your resume with our recruitment partners. However, if any of our recruitment partners wishes to set up an interview call through us to conduct a job interview with you, we will be required to share your resume without any redact.

During the onboarding process, you can choose to only send us the following documents:

Proof of Identity (e.g. Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport)

Proof of being transgender (e.g. Gender Dysphoria Certificate, or a Transgender ID Card, or your online presence which mentions your transition, or if none of these can be provided, then you will be required to sign a self-declaration form).

However, please note that these below additional documents will greatly help us in facilitating you a suitable job quickly and effectively.

You can choose not to share with us your social media ID(s) by choosing not to interact with us in social media.

When you share Job Descriptions and other information with us that contain information about your organisation, we will follow the applicable terms and conditions laid down in the applicable agreement(s) that your organisation has entered with PeriFerry.

PeriFerry sometimes features inspiring stories about our candidates’ journeys in their lives on our social media profiles. These stories might include your old and current photo, your placement and training information. However, participation in such features is completely voluntary. Even if you choose to participate, you will have options to share only specific information. For e.g. you can choose to only allow us to write about your journey in life as a transgender person but not publish any photos of you.

Finally, if you do not wish to share any data with us, please do not use any of our services.

Frequently asked questions
Q. Will you disclose my identity to friends/family/society?
A. Your identity and personal information will only be known to the members of our core team and we follow stringent security practices to keep them confidential. Should there be a need for you to go through our training programs, our trainers will need to access some of your basic personal information in order to facilitate the training. Some of our trusted interns may also be granted access to your basic data if we are in good faith that doing so is necessary for them to assist us in our work. Additionally, employers will be able to access the data necessary for them to find suitable positions for you. However, upon your request we will remove personally identifiable information e.g. your name, gender identity, contact info etc. from your resume before sharing them with our clients to ensure maximum confidentiality.

Q. Will you access and disclose sensitive information about our organisation?
A. PeriFerry is a social impact enterprise that is solely focused on facilitating sustainable livelihood opportunities to transgender/non-binary/intersex/gender fluid persons and fostering LGBTQIA+ equity at workplaces. We will only access the information that you provide to us so that we can provide our services to you. While we might receive some information about your organisation to provide our services to your organisation, we will not share this information publicly without obtaining your written permission prior to disclosure. Additionally, it is extremely unlikely that you will be providing us with extremely sensitive information about your organisation such as trade secrets, patents, information related to military contracts etc.

Q. Will you sell my data?
A. PeriFerry does not and will not sell your data to anyone.

Q. Will you share information about me and/or my organisation on social media?
A. PeriFerry might share information about you (such as your experience in availing our training program/job placement services, your life’s journey, our experience in conducting LGBTQIA+ sensitization workshops at your premises etc.) on our social media channels. However, we will ALWAYS ask for your permission before sharing such information. We will not publish any photo/video of you or your organisation without obtaining your written permission.
